For many families, it is a struggle to be able to afford to go on holiday every year. A holiday is often not just a luxury but for some people it is essential to give them the break they need. Often if parents are working shifts then they do not get to see each other as much as they would like and hardly ever get to spend quality time together as a family. Going away on holiday is a chance for everyone to switch off and spend time doing something they enjoy as a family.

You do not have to go abroad to go on holiday, some people have fantastic holidays in the UK, you may just have to plan for a different type of holiday. Whereas some people like to spend their holiday on the beach, in the UK as you cannot always guarantee the weather, you may want to do a city break or a holiday that involves a lot of sight seeing. If you happen to have a few nice days of weather then you can of course still make a trip to the beach or perhaps have a few day trips when you know the weather is going to be nice.
