Often flights can be a huge part of the expense of a holiday abroad so finding the right flights is essential. Before checking your accommodation dates for prices have a look at prices of flights for different times of the year and then work backwards from that. Often it seems that the best prices for holidays can be snapped up in the first quarter of the year (first 4 months) as this is when there are usually sales on. Some people struggle to book holidays straight after Christmas so the tour operators often put on enticing deals to drum up some business.

Research shows that on average short haul flights often increase in price the closer to the departure date, so if you’re sure on where and when you want to go, you may want to book early to avoiding getting caught up in the price increases.
