Island hopping holidays to Scotland

If you want to experience the best of Scotland’s islands then an island hopping trip may be just the thing for you. Whether you have only got a couple of days or a couple of weeks, it is well worth taking the time to explore a few islands and discover the unique character of each. The main island groups which are best suited for touring include the Inner Hebrides and the Outer Hebrides in the west of Scotland, and Orkney and Shetland in the north.

The Scottish islands are so varied in their size and what they have to offer ranging from the tiny outcrop of Inch Kenneth to the largest of the Islands namely Lewis and Harris. If you are interested in walking then a holiday on one of the Scottish Islands is definitely for you as there are plenty of amazing routes to follow either along one of the beautiful beaches or across the craggy peaks of Skye. If there is one thing about Skye that will leave a lasting impression on you, it has got to be the scenery. Just driving around, you can see many of Skye’s most majestic geological features, such as the Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing and the Cuillin. But be sure to take your sturdiest of boots and explore these unique sights on foot for the real rewards.
