With Christmas just over 4 weeks away, many of us have already planned what we will be doing on the big day. It you have a lot of family and friends that you want to see, you may find it a constant issue year upon year trying to see everyone whilst still having time for your own family. If this is the case then you may want to consider going away for Christmas with the people you wish to spend it with.

If you can all put together to hire a place for the week then you may be amazed at what you can get for your money. Very often you will find a farm house type building that will have upwards or 4 bedrooms for less than £1000 for a week over the Christmas season. So if you have four couples going that is £250 per couple for a week away. With a farmhouse you have the added bonus of the location as they are usually in quite rural places surrounded by wildlife and nature at its best.

A Christmas away with family can solve many of the usual problems that come up and may be just what you need.

 

When looking to book it holiday you should always spend some time, not only researching the resort or site that you will be staying at but also the area. If you are thinking of going abroad then you will want to know what the country is like and in particular, what the local area is like. No one wants to spend thousands of pounds going on holiday to find that the town or city nearest to them is not a nice place to visit or even that you are stuck in the middle of nowhere with little option but to have to travel by car or public transport to venture away from the resort. All of this travel can also add to the cost of the holiday.

Think about what is important to you on a holiday. If you like spending days on the beach then you should chose a place that is within easy walking distance or at least one. If you like to do something a little more adventurous then make sure that one of the beaches near you offers water sports such as scuba diving or jet skiing.

If you like a holiday that is filled with culture, then you may opt for a place that is steeped in history or has plenty of places to visit to keep you occupied for days. Having children with you on a holiday will mean that you may need to pre plan a little more. They will need to eat regularly, possibly sleep in the day and also won’t be able to travel on foot as far as you, so you will need to plan in activities that are only for a few hours or where you can have a break in-between.

 

 

Water parks can be great fun for all the family. There are many of them all over the UK and often you can find one nearby when you are abroad. Water parks usually have a wide range of different activities to suit people of all ages. For example, you may find thrill seeking slides but also lazy rivers and man made beaches for those that want something a little quitter.

When taking children to a water park it is important to think about the activities on offer and what they will be able to go on. If you are going alone with a child, you will need to consider that you may not be able to go on all the ride with them which may leave you in a tricky situation where there is no one at the bottom of the slide waiting for them.

Always be sure to take swimming aids such as arm bands for any children who are not confident swimmers in the water and never let them out of your site. Water parks are great places to visit in groups where you can split up and go on different activities with enough people to look out for each other.
