Activities to do on a budget

If you are looking for a low cost family holiday then you may worry about how enjoyable it will be. Holidays do not have to cost the earth to be fun and if you can save a little on accommodation then it means you will have more to spend on entertainment whilst away. This said there are so many family activities that you can do that cost very little or are sometimes even free.

Do some research about the are you are going to stay in, find out what is about locally and what the prices are. Very often you can find some beautiful gardens, castles or even museums that do not charge an entry fee. If you take a picnic with you, you can have a fun day out with all the family for the cost of a few sandwiches.

Make sure that you try and plan a few different activities for dry and wet weather, as in the UK no matter what time of the year it is, you cannot guarantee the weather being good.

Holidays that you never thought you could do with kids (but you can!)

Some people presume that once you have children it puts an end to all sorts of adventure holidays and exciting trips and that having kids means having to stay in self-catering accommodation surrounded by children’s activities and numerous play areas but this simply isn’t the case!
Here are some unexpected holidays that you can still do with the kids, it just takes a little more planning:-
Safaris – yes you really can take kids on safari! And there are specific safari trips that are planned out with children in mind so you can take the hassle out of planning the trip yourself.
Volunteering – when visiting countries that need aid, whether it be helping with building hut for people to live in or helping them get a clean water supply taking your children along will teach them a great lesson by setting the example of getting involved and helping out.
Backpacking – yes admittedly this is more difficult with children and you’ll no doubt need much more luggage but it can be done! And with a little extra planning this can be a fab trip for all the family.

The local people will be able to tell you which one is the best and any places that you should avoid.
